SECTION 5: SUMMARY OF CONSULTATION
  • Ms. Sophie Kaczynski presented with complaints of eye pain and light sensitivity (photophobia) following a Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA). It was established that the photophobia predated the MVA, eliminating concussion or neurological causes. A slit lamp examination revealed keratic precipitates, along with the presence of cells and flares. Subsequent Dilated Fundus Examination indicated inflammation in the vitreous, leading to the diagnosis of uveitis. The underlying cause remains unknown.

To address the uveitis, the patient was prescribed triamcinolone acetonide eye drops, with a recommended dosage of 2 drops per eye every evening before bedtime. Additionally, in managing photophobia, green-tinted sunglasses were recommended. Visual correction was provided with sight glasses featuring a -0.25 prescription, correcting a 20/25 visual acuity with a normal focal point.

The treatment plan aims to alleviate symptoms associated with uveitis, manage inflammation, and improve visual comfort. Regular follow-up appointments will be essential for monitoring the patient's response to the prescribed medications and adjusting the treatment plan as needed.
