Civilian Employment Recruitment Process

ppdlogo INTRODUCTION
The civilian employment recruitment process is the system by which potential civilian employees are recruited into the Los Santos Police Department. The recruitment process, henceforth known as "the process", covers the full process from the initial application through to the staff induction and familiarisation sessions within the department and each bureau, group, division, or section within it.

Please familiarise yourself with the noticeboard attached to the bottom of this thread before making an application. Also note, please do not reach out to any civilian or sworn staff member regarding the status of your application outside of the forum PMs to those listed below. Any attempt to contact members outside the forums may result in application denial.

The following roles are available within the department as civilian staff:


ppdlogo HIRING PROCESS
  • Step 1 - Preliminary Background Application: Applicants are expected to review the basic application requirements and other information relevant to the position being offered. Applicants are expected to gather information pertaining to personal details, education, employment history and are then expected to obtain an online form and fill it out to the best of their ability. The application is submitted and received by the Civilian Employment Section.
  • Step 2 - Preliminary Background Application Review: In this stage, the application is reviewed by the Civilian Employment Section for many factors. Criminal and general background history is also assessed, as well as educational requirements needed for the role. Verdicts receive approval from a senior employment officer before being forwarded to the applicant.
  • Step 3 - Department Interview: The Department Interview will be conducted by an Employment Officer to assess your personal accomplishments, job motivation, instrumentality, interpersonal skills, continuous learning orientation, and oral communication skills. This may also be conducted by a member of the Detective Bureau or Professional Standards Bureau, depending on the role the applicant is applying for.
    • Note: Personnel Division, Community Engagement Detail, Forensic Science and Technical Investigation Division, Legal Affairs Division, Public Communications Division, Detective Bureau, Professional Standards Bureau, or Operations Bureau may contact you before, during, or after this process to conduct their own checks on suitability.
  • Step 4 - Induction: If all previous areas have been found suitable for employment, the applicant will be offered to join the Los Santos Police Department and provided induction by their appropriate bureau, group, division, or section.

Civilian Employment Procedure Updates

  • The civilian employment application form has been updated. Any submitted application that uses the old application format will be invalidated.
29/MAY/2022
  • (( The civilian employment application form has been updated. This removes Item 8.10.3 ("If official, post a link to your double factions approval from PD's side") to reflect the policy amendment regarding double faction permissions as indicated here. Prospective candidates shall provide truthful answers on Items 8.10.1 and 8.10.2.

    It should be noted that this does not change the requirement for positions that prohibit having characters in illegal faction(s).

    Any future application submissions that still have the removed item will remain valid, however. ))
